Sultano Chickpeas boiled naturally from Biodynamic Farming, gluten-free

The smooth “Sultano” chickpea is a cultivar of Cicer arietinum, an annual herbaceous plant of the legume family, originally from the Middle East and cultivated since ancient times throughout the Mediterranean basin.

It has small smooth, spherical seeds of straw-yellow color with remarkable organoleptic qualities, due to the variety, biodynamic cultivation method and the richness of the soils. It stands out clearly from those commonly found on the market. Rich in high-quality proteins, they also provide starch, vitamins A and C, fiber, calcium and iron.

The Sultano cultivar has the peculiarity of cooking quickly and has a thin skin that makes it the most digestible among legumes. The “Principe di Gerace” chickpeas come exclusively from the fields of our farm in Abruzzo, dedicated to their cultivation since medieval times.

Naturally gluten-free, these naturally boiled chickpeas are ready to use and preserve all their authentic flavor. Perfect in the kitchen for soups and stews, purees and flans, excellent cold in salads or as a side dish for fish dishes. Delicious simply seasoned with extra virgin olive oil. Excellent also for oriental recipes such as falafel and hummus.
